How to add Delivery Customization

Delivery Customization allows you to configure simple, predefined rates for Delivery, Pickup, and Shipping in Pickeasy when your store uses flat or basic rate structures.

This feature helps Pickeasy display the appropriate rate based on the selected fulfillment type and helps avoid having to select the fulfillment type twice—once on the cart page and again during checkout.

When is Delivery Customization useful?

This feature is useful when your store has simple rate requirements, such as:

  • A flat rate for Delivery, Pickup, or Shipping
  • Price-based rates
  • Weight-based rates

For example:

Fulfillment type
Rate
Delivery
$25 flat rate
Delivery
Orders above $1,000 → $20
Delivery
Orders above $1,000 → Free ($0)
Pickup
Free
Shipping
$50

Note: You only need to configure the fulfillment types that your store offers. If you do not offer Shipping, you can leave the Shipping field empty.

How to Configure Delivery Customization

Step 1: Open Delivery Customization

In your Shopify admin, go to Pickeasy → Rates and General Configurations.

Under Rate Calculation Setup, select Delivery Customization.

Step 2: Enter the Rate Names

Enter the fulfillment type as a keyword along with any additional terms you want to use for the rate name.

The supported keywords are:

  • Delivery
  • Pickup
  • Shipping

For example, you can use:

  • Express Delivery
  • Standard Delivery
  • Free Pickup
  • Standard Shipping

Important: Make sure the fulfillment type keyword is included exactly as Delivery, Pickup, or Shipping in the rate name. You can add other terms before or after the keyword.

Example:

If you enter Delivery as the keyword in Pickeasy, you can create rates such as:

  • Express Delivery
  • Standard Delivery
  • Scheduled Delivery

Pickeasy will identify the rate based on the Delivery keyword.

Step 3: Configure the Rates in Shopify

Go to: Shopify Admin → Settings → Shipping and Delivery → General Shipping Profile. Configure the applicable rates for Delivery, Pickup, and Shipping.

When creating the rates, make sure the corresponding fulfillment type keyword is included in the rate name. For example:

Fulfillment type
Shopify rate name
Delivery
Express Delivery
Delivery
Standard Delivery
Pickup
Free Pickup
Shipping
Standard Shipping

Note: The fulfillment type keyword must match the keyword configured in Pickeasy. Additional words can be included in the Shopify rate name.

Step 4: Test the Rates

Once the configuration is complete, visit your storefront and test the rates by selecting each applicable fulfillment type.

Verify that the correct rate is displayed at checkout.

Important: Rate Name Matching

Rate name matching is important for Delivery Customization to work correctly.

Pickeasy identifies the applicable Shopify rate using the fulfillment type keyword configured in the app.

For example, if the Delivery keyword is configured as Delivery in Pickeasy, you can create the following rates in Shopify:

  • Express Delivery
  • Standard Delivery

Both rates contain the Delivery keyword, allowing Pickeasy to identify them as Delivery rates.

Similarly:

  • Pickup → Free Pickup, Store Pickup
  • Shipping → Standard Shipping, Express Shipping

Important: Always use the exact fulfillment type keyword—Delivery, Pickup, or Shipping—in the corresponding Shopify rate name. If the required keyword is missing or entered differently, Pickeasy may not be able to identify the rate correctly at checkout.

When Should You Use Delivery Customization?

Use Delivery Customization when:

  • Your store has simple or flat-rate requirements.
  • Your rates are based on order value or weight.
  • You want to avoid selecting the fulfillment type more than once —on both the cart and checkout pages.
  • You want the appropriate Shopify rate to be displayed based on the selected fulfillment type.

Why is this useful?

When Delivery and Pickup rates are configured directly through Shopify's native settings, the fulfillment type may need to be selected twice:

  1. On the cart page: Local Delivery, Store Pickup, or Standard Shipping
  1. At checkout: Ship or Pickup

This can be confusing because the same fulfillment option may need to be selected again at checkout.

Delivery Customization helps reduce this confusion by allowing Pickeasy to identify the Shopify rate based on the selected fulfillment type and display the appropriate rate at checkout.

When Should You Not Use Delivery Customization?

Delivery Customization is intended for simple rate requirements. It is not suitable when your store requires advanced or highly specific rate conditions.

Do not use this feature when you need rates based on:

  • Specific ZIP/postal codes
  • Specific products
  • Specific time ranges, such as 6 PM–10 PM
  • Specific days, such as same-day or custom-day conditions
  • Other advanced rate conditions

For these requirements, configure the rates directly through Pickeasy using the Carrier Calculated Shipping (CCS) API.

Plan Availability

Delivery Customization is available from the Smart plan of Pickeasy.

Note: If your store requires advanced rate conditions, the CCS API is required to configure those rates through Pickeasy. Delivery Customization is intended for stores with simple rate requirements. Please refer to the CCS API User Guide for detailed configuration steps.

If you need any assistance with configuring Delivery Customization, please contact our customer support.
