Activate Shopify’s Carrier Calculated Shipping (CCS) API to allow Pickeasy to apply custom shipping rates at checkout.
The Carrier Calculated Shipping (CCS) API is essential to show shipping rates from a third-party app. CCS API acts as a bridge between the third-party app and Shopify to show shipping rates on the checkout page.
Without CCS API, shipping rates from third-party apps will not be fetched by Shopify.
Availability of CCS API
The availability of CCS API depend on your Shopify store’s plan:
Plan | Monthly | Annual |
Shopify Plus | Available and included | Available and included |
Shopify Advanced | Available and included | Available and included |
Shopify Grow | Additional $20/month | Available and included |
Other Plans | Not available | Not available |
To get access to the CCS API, ensure your store is on a supported paid plan.
Note: The CCS API is a Shopify platform feature. Pickeasy does not benefit from enabling this API; it is only required for the app to provide shipping rates at checkout.
How to Enable the CCS API via Shopify Support
If the CCS API is not already enabled on your store, you can request activation by contacting Shopify Support.
- Visit the Shopify Help Center support page.
- Log in using your store owner account.
- In the virtual support assistant, request Live Agent Support.
- Select the store for which you want to enable the CCS API.
- Once connected with a support advisor, request activation of the Carrier Calculated Shipping API.

You can use the following example messages:
For Advanced Plan stores:
“I have been using Shopify's advanced plan, but the Carrier Calculated Service API is not available. Could you enable it on my account? Then, only I can use Pickeasy.”
For Shopify plan stores:
"Could you add the Carrier Service API to my “Shopify” plan for $20/month so that I can use Pickeasy’s features?"
The Shopify support advisor will activate the API, usually within a few minutes. Once enabled, you can proceed to configure shipping rates using Pickeasy.

Why Pickeasy Requires the CCS API
The CCS API ensures that the rates displayed at checkout are solely determined by the customer's fulfilment selected on the cart page.
With CCS API Enabled
- When a customer chooses Local Delivery, rates for local delivery only be shown.
- When a customer chooses Store Pickup, rates for store pickup only be shown.
- When a customer chooses Standard Shipping, rates for shipping only be shown.
Without CCS API Enabled
- Shipping rates configured in Pickeasy will not appear at checkout.
- Shopify will show only the shipping rates configured in Shopify settings, regardless of the fulfillment option selected on the cart page.
- Customers may need to select their fulfillment method twice, once on the cart page and again on the checkout page, creating a confusing experience.

Reasons for CCS API not working
In some cases, the carrier-calculated shipping API may become disabled.
Common reasons include:
- If you downgrade from advanced to a basic plan.
- If you haven’t renewed your subscription.
- When your store has moved from development plan to paid plan.
When this happens, Pickeasy will not be able to provide shipping rates at checkout.
To resolve the issue, contact Shopify Support and request reactivation of the Carrier Calculated Shipping API.
